Early Customer Feedback

... It's great to do business with folks who make a quality product and care about their customers.

Just wanted to tell you how great the Sport-Tec lightweight socks were. 8 days non-stop over 800 km. Feet felt great! Can't wait to try the rest of your gear.

We are all impressed with the quality of the clothes. Thanks for shipping so promptly.

Many thanks for the follow-up. I ordered [the Baobab jersey] after the review / mention on Bentrider online ("the nicest I've ever seen"). Plus I've been losing stuff from my non-zipped pockets.

'bent on the road

We love to travel and we love to cycle. So this section will keep you updated on both. While we are out there we want to:

  • meet as many fellow 'bents as possible
  • hear about where you are wearing your Reverse Gear
  • learn how we can make Reverse Gear better for you and fellow 'bents

Here a few picture from the Mid-West Recumbent rally courtesy of Cornell Wynnobel, 'Ratsinis, RBR rally in Pennsylvania and from www.lunchwithdave.com for the Bent Online event in California.

Where are we now? Where are we heading?

We are now into our second season of Reverse Gear. We've been pleased with the way the product has stood up to our busy riding schedule. We are now awaiting the cooler weather to get into the fall line.

We logged a lot of miles, in the van and on our trikes, visiting rallies and recumbent retailers. We had a lot of fun and got some great feedback on our concepts and the products themselves. We have already adopted some of those ideas and look forward to more feedback from our initial customers after they have time-tested our gear.

We've had some spontaneous orders from Europe, our next major market. But before that, we want to launch the line in Australia as it heads towards its summer cycling season.

Month Dates Location What's happening
September 1-30 ON Designing and taking orders for Spring 2009 product line
October ON Coordinating production for Spring 2009
November Australia Launching the product line in our home away from home

Drop us a if:

  • there are other tours we should know about
  • you can recommend places where we should stop
  • you know some great bike routes we should try
  • there are 'bent stores we should visit on the way, or
  • you just want to offer us a cuppa coffee en-route

Where have we been?
In June 2008, we are riding in our first North American rally. However we have been on many previous cycle rides in the past - some short and some longer; some on regular bicycles, others on the recumbents:

  • 1995 - Toronto to Peterborough and return
  • 1996 - Trenton to Kingston
  • 1997 - Germany and Italy for two weeks
  • 1998 - Cuba - Havana and Santiago de Cuba - McQueen Tours
  • 2000 - Rutherglen Wine Tour, Australia
  • 2001 - Hunter Valley Wine Tour, Australia
  • 2002 - Orange/Dubbo/Mudgee, Australia
  • 2003 - Tasmania, Australia - East coast from Lavender Farm to Hobart - Victoria Big Ride - two weeks https://www.bv.com.au/
  • 2004 - New Zealand - south island - Christchurch to Queenstown and back along west coast Victoria Big Ride - two weeks
  • 2008 - Two 'bent rallies June 13-15: RBR Rally www.rbr.info and June 20-22: Southern California Rally www.bentupcycles.com and we also did several scenic rides as we travelled by car from PA to CA: Vail, CO; Albuquerque, NM; Chicago, IL.

A special thanks to Joe and Julie at Amlings in Chicago who directed us on a 1.5 hour ride from their shop to Chicago Botanical Gardens - all on paved paths through parks. It made for a most enjoyable end to the cross-county trip before we returned home to design the fall products.
