Riding a Race Track

We’ve just found out about an opportunity to ride a race track in Ontario. Unfortunately, it’s this Sunday November 8 so this is late notice. But it’s the inaugural Overdrive Race & Relay series, held at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, in Bowmanville, Ontario (east of Toronto).

They are running a number of events, on-road and off-road for both runners and cyclists The on-road races take place on the 4km Grand Prix circuit. As they say on their website, “Some of the world’s most famous race car drivers have raced this circuit since 1961. Gilles Villeneuve, Jacques Villeneuve, Ron Fellows, Bill Brack, Paul Tracy, Alex Tagliani, Horst Kroll, Scott Goodyear and Moe Carter. Now is your chance to race it all be it in a bit of a different fashion be some of the first to do so. Whether than be on foot or bike. It’s going to be a blast!”

We’ve added this to our own events calendar and will be watching closely to see if it happens again next year as it sounds like an exciting place to ride.
