The unique lining and its position is customized just for recumbents - you don’t need a thick pad running front to back like regular shorts, you need a slim liner that prevents chafing and pressure points in the crotch and thighs when cycling without a regular saddle keeping your legs apart. The first pair I ordered fit me perfectly in the hips and waist but the thigh elastic was too tight! The good folks at Reverse Gear were happy to fulfill my exchange request for a larger size. I was really impressed by the quality of materials and workmanship on these shorts: they’re amazingly comfortable and the sturdy construction offers plenty of support. The larger size didn’t end up being way too big for my waist and hips either, but even if they had there’s a built-in drawstring in addition to the elastic. The chamois is really soft and the grippy elastic on the inside of the thigh hem is always a plus.
