Reverse Gear

the official blog of Reverse Gear Inc.

about us

Instead of publishing a newsletter, we created this blog so we could share NEWS about Reverse Gear Inc. and other issues that matter to us personally: cycling, cycle clothing, sustainability issues, travel, etc. We will update our BLOG, at least once a month and hopefully more often. And we hope you will add comments to let us know what issues interest you. - Len & Judi

About Us

We are a team, Judi Bachmann and Len Ashby, personally and in business.

We rode regular bikes for many decades. However since buying our Greenspeed tandem (GTT) in 2001 we have become passionate about ‘bents. We now also ride single trikes (folding GT3s).

We are equally passionate about travel. On our hybrid bicycles, we rode in Canada, USA, Germany, Italy and Cuba. While living in Australia from 1999 – 2006, we rode our GTT on independent tours and on several ‘big rides’ (Tasmania with 1700 cyclists and New Zealand with some 1000 others). In 2006, we returned to Canada to be closer to the grand-children. For the next few years, we will travel to bike rallies and events in North America, whenever we can.

During almost a decade of riding recumbents, we had become dissatisfied with the selection of clothing for recumbent-riding. So in 2008, we began to design and manufacture a line of recumbent-specific clothing and we launched REVERSE GEARTM clothing, a wide range of tops and bottoms with unique features (for more - see about RG ).

Since November 2009, we have taken travel seriously. We sold the condo and bought a class-A motorhome and became full-time RVers travelling around North America. When we travel we will try to keep our itinerary on the find us page, so perhaps we will see you somewhere on the road. Sometimes when we travel and/or ride, we will write a description on our BLOG of what we have learned and any recommendations we may have for other cyclists and walkers.

We will also occasionally publish questions and answers about recumbent-riding based on our perosnal experience riding or on research or what we have learned from bike shop owners and other cyclists. If you have a question, please send it to judi at reversegearinc.com and we will post an answer as soon as we get a chance.

- Happy trails, Judi & Len
